This page summarizes the AuthorShelf Services Agreement (“Services Agreement”) that governs all paid publishing packages and add-on services. The complete agreement — including tier-specific inclusions, payment terms, recurring subscriptions, and e-sign acceptance — is presented at checkout before payment.
1. Relationship of Agreements
The Services Agreement controls all purchases. The Website Terms of Use govern general site use. The Portal User Agreement governs Portal access after registration.
2. Author-Protective Core Terms
- Rights & royalties: You retain ownership of your work; AuthorShelf does not claim your manuscript rights. Royalties from your sales remain yours per the Services Agreement.
- Transparent packages: Tier inclusions and pricing are disclosed before purchase across our 2026 packages.
- Lifetime Portal: Qualifying packages include ongoing Portal access as described at purchase.
- Approvals: Production advances when you approve defined phases in the Portal.
3. Content Guidelines & Indemnity
You warrant that your manuscript and materials are original or properly licensed and do not violate law or third-party rights. You indemnify AuthorShelf against claims arising from your content, subject to the full Services Agreement.
4. Optional Milestone Plans
Author may elect an optional Milestone Plan shown in the Service Order. A Milestone Plan is a phased payment schedule (deposit at checkout, with remaining payments due on dates or production milestones disclosed in the Service Order and Author Portal). A one-time, non-refundable Milestone Plan Setup Fee of $149 applies. This is an administrative convenience fee and does not constitute interest or a finance charge (see full agreement §5.7).
5. Recurring Services
Optional recurring layers (e.g., market access, hosting tiers, returns processing, success retainer) are disclosed at purchase with renewal terms. Cancellation and billing follow the checkout agreement.
6. Limitation of Liability
Liability limits for purchased services are set in the full Services Agreement presented at checkout, which may differ from Website Terms caps.
7. E-Sign at Checkout
By completing checkout, you electronically sign the then-current Services Agreement version for your selected package.
