AuthorShelf (AuthorShelf, Inc.) respects your privacy. This Policy explains our practices when you use our Website, Portal, and publishing services. Read it with our Website Terms of Use and Services and Publishing Agreement.
1. Information We Collect
- Account and profile data (name, email, address, phone, bio).
- Publishing data (manuscripts, metadata, approvals, messages).
- Commerce data (orders, payments via Stripe, royalties).
- Technical data (IP, browser, cookies, usage logs).
2. How We Use Information
To provide and improve Services (including internal AI tools per Agreement Section 8—human-reviewed, no external training on your Work without separate consent/compensation), process payments/royalties (Stripe), communicate (including SMS with your prior express written consent), operate the Portal, and comply with law.
3. Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share only as needed with:
- Service providers (e.g., Stripe for payments, GoDaddy for hosting, Google for analytics/email, Grok/xAI for permitted internal AI assistance, Ingram for distribution) under strict confidentiality and security obligations.
- Distribution partners solely to fulfill your Service Order. International transfers use appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses).
4. Your Rights
Contact admin@authorshelf.com to access, correct, delete, or opt out (subject to legal/contractual retention). CCPA/CPRA rights available where applicable. We respond within 45 days.
5. Security and Breaches
We maintain reasonable safeguards (encryption, access controls). We will notify you of breaches as required by law.
6. Retention
Data retained as long as necessary for the Agreement Term, post-termination obligations (e.g., file delivery, accounting), or legal requirements.
7. Updates and Contact
